Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia Dress Among Iconic Movie Costumes For Sale At Propstore Auction

Among the most sought after items to be sold at the Propstore auction is Princess Leia’s ceremonial dress from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope which was worn by Carrie Fisher and is expected to sell for between $1 million - $2 million. Likely to sell for a similar sum is Batman’s (Christian Bale) Batpod from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) Light-Up "Star-Lord" Helmet from Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to sell for between $100,000 - $200,000. Also setting you back a similar sum will be the coat Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) wore as the Titanic sunk in James Cameron’s historical epic. A Spider Head from The Thing also has the same estimate. Russell Crowe’s armour from Gladiator’s estimate is $80,000 - $160,000, the same as an outfit Harrison Ford wore while playing Rick Deckard in 1982’s Blade Runner. Harry Potter’s distressed costume, complete with glasses, from the second film in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will cost between $75,000 - $150,000. Other interesting items on sale include a baseball glove from Field of Dreams autographed by Kevin Costner Michael Keaton’s Batman costume, and a claymore sword wielded by Mel Gibson in Braveheart. The cracked Mjolnir Hammer wielded by Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to sell for between $60,000 - $120,000. Gangster film buffs will also be particularly interested in Al Pacino’s annotated Scarface script, which will set you back between $40,000 and $80,000. Propstore will hold a preview exhibition at their office facility in Valencia, California by appointment from 29 May to 20 June. Bids can be placed in online, over the phone, and in-room bidding will be open to the public at The Petersen Automotive Museum on the first day of the event on June 28th.
