Damage Seen in Guam in Wake of Typhoon Mawar

The aftermath of Typhoon Mawar was seen in Guam on Thursday, May 25, after Gov Lou Leon Guerrero gave the all clear.

Footage shared on Twitter shows multiple trees down along Marine Corp Drive in Hagatna.

Super Typhoon Mawar continued to strengthen as it moved west away from Guam towards Taiwan and the northern Philippines later on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

When the eye of the storm passed just north of Guam on Wednesday, wind speeds were around 140 mph, but Mawar has since regained strength to become a super typhoon, with winds upwards of 180 mph by Friday, the NWS said. Credit: @Sean13213341 via Storyful
