'Dumping Rain,' High Winds Sweep West Texas

Heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of northwestern Texas on Friday morning, May 26, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Christena Stephens said she filmed this video in Hockley County, near Texas’s western border with New Mexico, on Friday morning as storms passed through the region.

According to a hazardous weather outlook from the NWS, thunderstorms were expected Friday evening, with the potential for localized flooding, 70 mph wind gusts, and hail up to two inches in diameter. Credit: Christena Stephens via Storyful
