Floridians protest DeSantis' immigration bill

STORY: The Senate Bill titled ‘SB 1718’ aims to introduce stringent measures aimed at curbing immigration and strengthening human trafficking and unlawful status.

"I came to this country to work here and they don't give me the right to work, I can't do anything," said Maria Orozco, an immigrant student and worker.

Another protester, who works in the farming sector and preferred to remain anonymous, addressed DeSantis saying “we are honest people, we simply come to work, to get ahead, to get our family ahead.”

The Bill was signed by DeSantis on May 10, and is due to come into effect on July 1.
