Nova Scotia Wildfire's Trail of Destruction Shown in Aerial Footage

Evacuation orders remained in place for almost 16,500 residents in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Wednesday, May 31, Canadian fire officials said.

Footage captured by Bailey Ballum shows an aerial view of the scorched trail burned by the Tantallon wildfire on Wednesday morning.

By Tuesday, the fire destroyed an estimated 200 homes or structures, according to Halifax Regional Municipality.

On Monday, the region’s government issued a province-wide burn ban, which would remain in place until at least June 25, local media reported. Credit: Bailey Ballum via Storyful
