Sacramento restaurateur Chris Jarosz killed in Highway 50 crash

Sacramento County officials identified a man who died in a Highway 50 crash Wednesday morning as 55-year-old Chris Jarosz, a well-known restaurant owner in the area. "I’m still in shock," said Jot Condi, president & CEO of the California Restaurant Association about Jarosz's passing. "Just a tremendous loss to the industry." Jarosz owned restaurants in Sacramento, such as Broderick Roadhouse — there are multiple locations across the region — and Anonimo Pizza. He also had ties in the opening of Oak Park Brewery and was once a co-owner of Localis in midtown before selling it to the restaurant's current head chef. Localis earned a Michelin star, one of the highest distinctions in the Michelin Guide and culinary scene, last year.
