BRAD SMITH: Monday morning, bringing with it a slew of political news across the globe. First, Turkey's fiercely fought election is headed for a runoff after current President Erdogan fell short of the 50% of votes needed to extend his 20-year streak. Now, the high-stakes election will ultimately decide the fate of a key NATO ally.

Meanwhile, in Thailand, preliminary results show the country's pro-democracy parties secured a strong majority in the general election. If confirmed, the results would signal a resounding rejection of previous leadership, ending nine years of pro-military rule.

And finally, the G7 Summit kicks off in Japan later this week. Leaders of the seven richest nations, they're going to meet amid the war in Ukraine and rising tensions between the US and China. So what is the latest across the globe mean for US investors? We're digging deeper into that coming up.
