Unpaid Raikkonen threatens race boycott

Kimi Raikkonen has threatened to boycott the final two races of the formula one season due to unpaid wages.

The Finnish 2007 world champion says he has not been paid ‘a single euro’ by his Lotus team all year.

So far this season Lotus owe Raikkonen around 17 million euros including points bonuses.

However the cash-strapped Lotus argue they need to take care of their employees first because Raikkonen is already a multi-millionaire.

It will be the last season Raikkonen drives for Lotus after the 34-year old signed to race with Italian glamour team Ferrari starting next year.
