Amelia Lily backs Nicole Scherzinger on X Factor (after all she found One Direction!)

New X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger may have been let go from the US version but former contestant Amelia Lily thinks she'll be great.

Talking exclusively to omg! today, Amelia admitted that the addition of the former Pussycat Dolls singer would only benefit the show.

She said: "I think she'll be great, she is actually the woman who put One Direction together so she knows what she's doing!"

Oh Nicole, we thank you SO MUCH for that.

Nicole Scherzinger has joined the panel as a full time judge after her departure from the X Factor USA earlier this year where she has been searching for the next One Direction *crosses fingers* in Liverpool today for the boot camp stage of the competition.

This is the second consecutive year that the panel has changed following last year's addition of Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Kelly Rowland.

Amelia believes that shaking up the panel is in fact a good thing.

She explained: "I think it's actually quite nice to change the judges up because it makes the show a bit more exciting and a bit more new."

But how does she feel about the departure of former mentor Kelly Rowland?

"I think Kelly was great on the show but everyone has their own opinion really and if she didn't want to go back to the show then that was entirely her decision- she's a very busy lady."

Amelia is gearing up to release her first single, 'You bring me Joy' next month, teaming up with Xenomania- the brains behind some of Girls Aloud biggest hits.

Sounds like she's in good hands then!
