FOOTBALL - Cristiano Ronaldo makes runway debut

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has made his runway debut to help launch a new range of footwear for his CR7 brand.

Taking to the catwalk for the first time, he remarks, “I was a little nervous at first! It was a totally new experience for me, but it was a lot of fun!”

During the event, Ronaldo also signed 10 pairs of shoes which be will be purchased by lucky consumers around the globe, and created an artwork of his footprint to commemorate the event.  

 All of the shoes are handmade in Guimaraes, Portugal, where the launch was held.

Ronaldo says he was honoured to launch the the line in his home country.

"Each pair is hand crafted here in Portugal by the most talented local artisans, so it seemed fitting to hold the global launch here in the historic town of Guimaraes, where many of the styles are made."

And in true Cristiano Ronaldo fashion, style is paramount, with the press release dedicating more than twice as much as space extolling the what makes the shoes stylish than what makes them actually comfortable. You know - why shoes are worn in the first place.
