Hockey fan superdad catches puck at AHL game while holding sleeping baby (Video)
It's difficult to balance the responsibilities of being a loving parent and being a puckhead. On the one hand, one is expected to put your kids above all else. But on the other hand, hockey's pretty great, and you never have to drive it to school. The struggle is real.
But here's one dad who's doing it right. On Saturday night, at an AHL game between the Norfolk Admirals and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, a fan perfectly balanced his two halves. How? By catching a puck with one hand while holding his sleeping baby with the other. This is how you parent:
This man is the greatest among us. Nevermind that he rose up towards a pretty dense piece of flying rubber rather than trying to, like, protect his baby from it. It all worked out. The baby didn't even wake up. And he probably has no idea how badass his dad is.
This is no small feat. It's not easy to hold a kid and catch a souvenir at the same time.
Why, just last year, we marveled at a Los Angeles Kings' fan and mother who dropped her son to snag Mike Richards' stick after Richards was named the game's first star in a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
It's great because she was originally holding the kid up, presumably so that he could catch the stick. But once it went up, her hockey fan side took over.
Forget you, kid. Let this be a lesson to you. Don't trust anyone. Especially not hockey fans.
