Italian skier Christof Innerhofer does a headstand during medal ceremony

Italian skier Christof Innerhofer made the medal ceremony of the super-combined one of the most entertaining of these Olympic Games when he decided to do a headstand on the platform.

Innerhofer won the bronze medal, a nice addition to the silver he won in men’s downhill on Feb. 9. After that win, Innerhofer screamed into the camera before collapsing in the snow. He missed gold by six one-hundredths of a second.

Friday's headstand — and the bronze medal — were unexpected considering Innerhofer suffers back pain that is so severe it prohibits him from training in the summer. But he was overcome by the emotion of the moment. He even made sure to share his joy with his Twitter followers.

Innerhofer still has to compete in the super-G on Sunday. If he wins a medal then, he’ll match his total from the 2011 world championships in Germany. It will be interesting to see what kind of reaction he has then.
