Bailey backs 'game-breaker' Johnson for 'return Ashes' recall

Sydney, Aug 29 (ANI): Australian Twenty20 captain George Bailey has backed his teammate Mitchell Johnson as a 'game-breaker', saying that Johnson can set himself up for an Ashes recall after his inclusion in the squad for the limited overs series in England. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Johnson has joined the Australian squad for two Twenty20 games and six one-dayers in the UK after being left out of the Test side that fell 3-0 in the Ashes. Although the fast bowler is often targeted by English fans for being wayward at times, Bailey however, expected Johnson to thrive in the limited overs campaign, adding that he believed that a strong showing from Johnson could convince selectors to recall him for the return Ashes series. Stating that he feels that Johnson will play a crucial role in upcoming games, Bailey also said that there is no doubt that Johnson, a veteran of 124 one-day games and 28 T20s, can 'break a game open' with his quick bowling and swinging the ball at the top of the order. Johnson is one of several new faces in the Australian squad, with only seven members of the Test side retained for the limited overs tour, the report added. (ANI)
