Body found in search for missing Rodrigo Falcon who vanished from Scots town in 2022

A body has been found in the search for a missing man who vanished from a Scots town almost two years ago.

Police confirmed a body was discovered just outside Aviemore and informed the family of Rodrigo Falcon, who vanished from the the town on Sunday December 11, 2022.

The 33-year-old was last seen leaving the Vault Nightclub in the town, with the last sighting of him captured on CCTV walking on Grampian Road towards the southern end of Aviemore around 3.10am that morning.

In the weeks that followed extensive searches were carried out in the area. Today, police have sadly confirmed a body has been discovered in the search.

Formal identification is still to take place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.15pm on Friday, 26 April, 2024, a body was discovered just outside Aviemore.

"Formal identification is still to take place, however the family of Rodrigo Falcon, who was reported missing from the area in December 2022, have been informed.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
