El Shaarawy in remarkable act of goodwill

Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has donated a defibrillator to his former youth team Legino as an act of goodwill.

El Shaarawy’s act comes in the wake of Piermario Morosini’s collapse and subsequent death on the pitch during a Serie B match between Livorno and Pescara.

Milan used their website to reveal that El Shaarawy travelled to the Ruffinengo centre on Monday to present his former club with the medical device.

The 19-year-old started his career at Legino, before leaving his boyhood team for Genoa at the age of 14 and wanted to express his gratitude for the football education he received at the club.

El Shaarawy joined Milan on a co-ownership deal in the summer of 2011, after a successful loan spell at Padova the previous season and has scored twice in 20 Serie A appearances this campaign.
