Fans of The Chase noticed a repeat answer in tonight's episode - and how it could be in poor taste for some.

Nan-to-be Trisha, from Neath south Wales, took on the popular ITV show and told Bradley Walsh she'd put any cash she won towards helping her pregnant daughter prepare for the arrival of her little girl. She was a confident quizzer and managed to bag £4k in her quickfire round.

When facing Darragh 'The Menace' Ennis, she was faced with one multiple choice question that riled up viewers at home. She correctly told Brad that Julie Hesmondhalgh - famed for her long-running role on ITV's Coronation Street as Hayley Cropper - played Trish Winterman in ITV's Broadchurch alongside the likes of David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Jodie Whittaker.

One person noticed: "Hayley Cropper questions two days running". The episodes that aired so far this week (April 30 and May 1) are repeats from previous series and the reference to the former Corrie favourite is therefore a coincidence.

Another viewer asked: "Do The Chase's question writers really like Hayley Cropper or something?". A third joked: "Hayley Cropper question again while poor Roy is in prison? Disgusting behaviour!"

A firm favourite on the ITV soap, Roy Cropper is currently being held in custody charged with the murder of teen Lauren Bolton who vanished from the cobbles earlier this year after letting a mystery person into her flat in February. Soap bosses have been accused of taking things too far with the storyline featuring the innocent café owner take the brunt of armchair detectives and, in recent scenes, ending up in hospital due to the stress of the situation.

Back to The Chase, Bradley told his team of three that they could have been playing for a slice of £144,000, had they taken the chance of high offers. Instead, they played for a prize pot of £12,000 that would work out to a winning sum of £4,000 each.

Darragh admitted that it could be a tight final Chase due to the broad range of general knowledge between Trisha and her teammates - Becky from Rossendale and Dan from Yeovil - but said that'd only be the case if they "played to their full potential".

However, he swept through their effort of 12 correct questions in just under a minute and a half after being pushed back three times. The Chase airs on ITV and ITV X every weekday at 5pm.
