Junior dos Santos Undergoes Surgery on Knee and Nose
Junior dos Santos had a rough fight the last time out, but on Thursday had successful surgery to put him back on the mend.
The former UFC heavyweight champion returned to the Octagon for the first time in more than a year when he fought Stipe Miocic in the UFC on FOX 13 main event on Dec. 13 in Phoenix.
The two battled back and forth, pummeling each other over the course of their 25-minute headliner. They won the Fight of the Night honors, but dos Santos also earned a potential six-month medical suspension, pending clearance via a CT scan.

Well, it may be that long before dos Santos is ready to step back in the Octagon anyway since he posted to his Instagram account on Thursday that he had just undergone successful surgery on both his knee and his nose.
“Good morning guys!” he wrote. “I would like to let you know that I just had a knee and nose surgery and that went very well.”
The surgery was to repair damage to his lateral collateral ligament in his right knee and a deviated septum. Thus far, there has been no timetable given for his return to the Octagon, but considering that one of the surgeries was to his knee, and him being a heavyweight, it’s unlikely that we’ll be seeing him fighting in the near term.
