Meghan Markle was 'unimpressed' by the Royal Family's response to claims made in her infamous Oprah Winfrey interview, according to reports.

Back in 2021, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sat down for a tell-all interview with the US talk show host and made some serious claims about The Firm.

And the moment that got the whole world talking was when they alleged one member of the royal family raised concerns about what colour the Sussexes baby would be.

It then emerged that Meghan and Charles, who was the Prince of Wales at the time, exchanged letters about the incident which exposed the identity of the royal who made the skin-tone comment.

It is alleged that Meghan was not satisfied with the response from Charles, and that was part of the reasoning for not attending the Coronation, reports The Mirror.

Sources told The Telegraph that Meghan was not happy with the response to the accusation and he was "raising concerns about unconscious bias". The paper reports that the Duchess's letter was sent in response to correspondence from Charles, in which he expressed his sadness over the split within the family.

The Royal Family did little to acknowledge these claims publicly, but Prince William did say that his is "not a racist family".

The Oprah interview came one year after Harry and Meghan decided to quit royal life due to various behind the scenes issues within the family.

Meghan allegedly raised bullying complaints which she felt hadn't been dealt with as well as the toll life as working royals had taken on her mental health.

The King is seemingly the only person who made contact with the Duchess after the interview in which Oprah was told there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his [Archie’s] skin might be when he’s born”.

This unsatisfactory response reportedly played a key role in Meghan declining the invitation for the event, which took place on the same day as Archie's fourth birthday.

Harry attended alone and flew back to the US just hours later.
