Ben Shephard shared a response to viewers after they spotted latest This Morning guest Jon Bon Jovi making a quick exit after an awkward moment during their interview. The rock legend appeared live on the show on Wednesday (April 17) to celebrate and reflect on his 40-year career with his band.

Speaking to hosts Ben and Cat Deeley about going over old footage for the new documentary, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which is released on Hulu and Disney+ later this month, Jon said: "It was emotional...

"We got together around six months ago to see a rough cut and that was the last time I watched it and it was emotional - there were the highs and the lows - because to have an honest and good career to last forty years there has to be highs and lows and you have to acknowledge both."

He added: "I get asked throughout my career, ‘What would you tell your younger self’ and it’s - ‘slow down, it’s OK, we’re gonna be here, it all works out in the end!"

But talk soon turned to Richie Sambora, who left the group in 2013, and the interview appeared to turn slightly awkward at the mention. The trio had been discussing Richie's appearance in the new documentary, during which he spoke about his reasons for leaving the group before the band moved on and replaced him with new guitarist Phil X.

Bon Jovi told Cat and Ben that he had no idea Richie was going to leave the band when he did and was shocked that he didn't show up mid-concert. It appeared to viewers of the show that the lead singer of the group did not want to delve into too much detail about it but Ben kept probing about Richie leaving the band.

Not wanting to open up about the situation anymore, Bon Jovi shut down the host, telling him again: "There was no animosity, I swear to you." Then, once the interview had concluded, fans saw Bon Jovi hastily thanking the hosts before getting up and leaving the studio.

One commented: "#ThisMorning Jon Bon Jovi’s fake smiling, mild irritation and legging it out of there." Another said: "Jon Bon Jovi couldn’t have got his a*** out of there quick enough." A third added: "Yikes, Bon Jovi couldn't wait to leave when they finished the interview."
