Police walked into an address to find the occupants "surrounded" by a selection of suspected drugs.

At around 4pm on Thursday May 16, police spotted a man on an electric bike on New Hey Road, Wirral after he rode away from them when he noticed their vehicle. They stopped the man and found a block of hash in his bag.

The 19-year-old man from Greasby was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell class B drugs.

Officers then searched an address in Greasby where three men were found in the living room surrounded by cannabis, suspected cocaine and MDMA tablets. Officers also found jars and bags of cannabis, a quantity of white and red powder and scales in the house.

Two 18-year-olds and one 48-year-old man from New Brighton and Liscard were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell class A and B drugs. They were all taken to a police station where they remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Phillip Ryan said: “Thanks to the vigilance and alertness of our officers, we have recovered several amounts of cannabis, cocaine and MDMA tablets from inside the address and arrested four men.

“I hope this result reassures residents and shows how committed our officers are in removing any dangerous drugs that could cause serious harm and violence in our community.

“Our investigation into this incident is still ongoing therefore we urge anyone who has any intelligence or knows someone involved in this crime to contact Merseyside Police social media desk @MerPolCC using reference 24000445505 so we can investigate."
