Rafael ‘Feijao' Cavalcante vs. Thiago Silva Moved to UFC on Fuel TV 10

Less than a week ago, Thiago Silva and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante thought they would be fighting each other at UFC 162 in Las Vegas. They’re still slated to face one another, but now the two Brazilians will instead do so on their home turf.

MMAWeekly.com sources confirmed an initial report from Tatame.com that Silva vs. Cavalcante has been moved up from their anticipated July 6 date to June 8.

They will fight as part of the support cast for UFC on Fuel TV 10: Nogueira vs. Werdum, expected to take place in Fortaleza. The event also serves as The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 2 Finale.

Silva and Feijao are both returning from drug test-related suspensions.

Silva (14-3 / 2 no contests) had a victory over Stanislav Nedkov changed to a no contest after he tested positive for marijuana metabolites following their UFC on Fuel TV 10 bout in Macao.

Feijao (11-3 / 1 no contest) defeated Mike Kyle at Strikeforce’s May 2012 card, but had the result ruled a no contest after testing positive of stanozolol, an anabolic steroid.

The fight will be Feijao’s Octagon debut, while Silva could be fighting for his very survival in the UFC. He has gone 1-3 with 2 no contests in his last six fights.

TUF Brasil 2 coaches Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum headline the UFC on Fuel TV 10 fight card.
