Rick Story Suffered Broken Ankle in Win at UFC Fight Night Stockholm
Rick Story suffered a broken ankle in the second round of his UFC Fight Night 53 win over Gunnar Nelson, the fighter's camp confirmed on Tuesday evening.
Story's coach, John Crouch, confirmed the injury to MMAWeekly.com, calling it a “gutsy performance” in the split decision win. MMAFighting.com first reported news of the injury.
Story also tweeted a photo of his ankle, adding a caption that read “So this happened in the second round.”

Last Saturday in Stockholm, Story edged out local favorite Nelson in the main event of the Fight Night card. Following the win, Story said he didn't care who he faces next and explained that he was ready to fight. After today's news, being ready will come later than expected. A timeline for Story's recovery from the injury was not immediately revealed to MMAWeekly.com.
