Ronda Rousey Cleared of Injuries, Wants to Fight Alongside Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier

Following her 10th win last July, Ronda Rousey found herself heading to the sidelines with a need to repair some battered extremities.

One part of her body that needed medical attention was her knee, and the other was reportedly her thumb, which she recently revealed she broke in her UFC 175 win against Alexis Davis.

But now the reigning queen of the UFC is cleared by physicians and ready to come back.

“I just got cleared by the doctors,” said Rousey during a recent media scrum in Brazil. “I’m cleared now.

“I got knee surgery right [after my last fight]. And actually, I broke my thumb in my last fight, right next to the joint. I had a pin stuck in and I was in a cast all summer, as well as a knuckle.”

Around the time that Rousey learned she is able to get back in the Octagon and try for more first-round finishes, she got called out by Brazilian standout Bethe Correia. Rousey recently told MMAWeekly.com that she hopes to get the chance beat Correia, but the women's 135-pound champion later said there are two fights out there that stand out even more.

Showdowns with a former face of women's MMA or a one-time No. 1 contender are more desirable, Rousey said.

“I think the two fights that I would like the most are either Gina Carano or Cat Zingano, because I know she’s recovering,” the fighter told reporters. “I talked to her personally and I was like, ‘One day we are going to have the title fight that you deserve. I’m going to beat you, but we’re going to have it.' She’s had a very, very rough year, and I think that’s exactly what she would need and I’m happy to provide that experience for her.”

And if either Carano or Zingano are down for a fight, the champ already has a date in mind. Pairing with the likes of Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will surely bring buys for a pay-per-view, and Rousey said fighting on the year's biggest card would be something she would love to be associated with.

“I would love to fight Jan. 3 on the card with Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier,” she said. “That would be what I prefer. I love fighting on New Year’s because it’s one of the biggest shows of the year and I love being part of it.”
