Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar Both Pass Bellator 131 Random Drug Tests

Bellator 131 main eventers Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar each has been randomly tested for performance enhancing drugs by the California State Athletic Commission leading up to Saturday’s fight at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego.

Foster told MMAWeekly.com that no other fighters were randomly tested, but that all fighters on the card will be tested the night of the fights.

Ortiz has never tested positive for banned substances, although Bonnar has on two occasions.

Having lost to Forrest Griffin in the inaugural The Ultimate Fighter Finale, Bonnar again lost to Griffin in their rematch at UFC 62. After the fight, he tested positive for the anabolic steroid boldenone.

Bonnar then squared off with then-middleweight-champion Anderson Silva in a light heavyweight, non-title bout at UFC 153. He lost the fight, announced his retirement, and then tested positive for Drostanolone, another anabolic steroid.

His fight with Ortiz will be Bonnar’s first since the fight with Silva.
