Jury scored the early takedown, but fell into a near omoplata. Cerrone transitioned around to side control and then secured the back. Jury struggled for several minutes as Cerrone secured a body triangle and worked for a rear-naked choke through the end of the round.

The second round saw the fight’s first extensive stand-up exchange take place, but relatively no significant strikes landed. Both fighters threw flurries at times, neither giving up ground.

Cerrone pulled away in the third round, pressuring Jury all over the Octagon. He landed a number of combinations, but the most significant blow came in the form of a head kick that left Jury wobbled. Time expired with Jury on his back, taking leg kicks from Cerrone who stood over the beaten fighter.

With the UFC 182 win, Cerrone extends his win streak to six and is in prime position for lightweight title contention.
