The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the performance-based fighters bonuses for UFC Fight Night 52: Hunt vs. Nelson following Saturday's event in Japan. Mark Hunt, Kyung Ho Kang, Michinori Tanaka, and Johnny Case were awarded $50,000 bonus checks for their performances at the famed Saitama Super Arena.

Preliminary card fighters Kyung Ho Kang and Michinori Tanaka earned the Fight of the Night bonus. The two engaged in a back-and-forth battle that ended with Kang winning via split decision.

Mark Hunt earned a Performance of the Night bonus for his second-round, one-punch knockout of Roy Nelson in the main event. After a competitive opening round, Hunt found his timing and caught Nelson with a well-placed uppercut that left “Big Country” face first on the canvas. It was only the second time Nelson has been knocked out in his 10-year mixed martial arts career.

Johnny Case earned the second Performance of the Night award for his second-round submission of Kazuki Tokudome in preliminary action. It was one of two submission finishes on the 12-fight card.
