UFC on FOX 13 Attendance and Gate from Phoenix

The UFC announced the gate and attendance figures for their first trip to Phoenix, following the UFC on FOX 13 fight card that occurred on Saturday.

A total of 15,300 fans packed the US Airways Arena, totaling a gate of $1.5 million gate.

In the main event, former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos engaged in a bloody back-and-forth slugfest with Stipe Miocic. In the end, dos Santos proved to the judges that he was the leading man with a unanimous decision over the up-and-coming heavyweight.

In the evening's co-main event, Rafael Dos Anjos continued his climb to the top of the lightweight division with a dominant performance against Nate Diaz. Dos Anjos landed several brutal leg kicks on his way to picking up the unanimous decision.

The UFC has never been to Phoenix, but its parent company has. The last time a Zuffa-owned MMA organization made its way to the city was when the WEC showcased their final show, WEC 53. The event was made famous with the birth of the “Showtime kick,” as Anthony Pettis landed the move on his way to earning the WEC lightweight title over then-champion Benson Henderson.
