Uriah Hall Survives Latest Injury Hit, Gets New UFC Boston Opponent

Despite losing the second of two opponents with mere days to go until fight time, Uriah Hall will remain on the UFC Fight Night 59 fight card in Boston on Sunday.

He’ll be fighting UFC newcomer Ron Stallings on six days notice. UFC officials confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com following an initial report by FOX Sports.

Stallings is the third – and hopefully final – opponent for Hall for UFC Boston. Hall was originally slated to fight Costas Philippou, who dropped off the card due to injury. Another Octagon newbie, Louis Taylor, had agreed to fill in for Philippou, but dropped out of the fight on Sunday, also citing an injury.

Hall (9-4) was a strong favorite on the seventeenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, but ultimately lost to Kelvin Gastelum in the finale.

He is currently 2-2 in the Octagon, having won his last two bouts over Chris Leben and Thiago Santos.

Stallings trains with Team Lloyd Irvin in Maryland, where he has amassed a 12-6 record with one no contest. He has won three of his last four bouts, but enters the fight with Hall coming off of a unanimous decision loss in his last outing this past November.

The UFC is building this fight card around the promotion of popular Irishman Conor McGregor, who has been promised a shot at UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo if he defeats Dennis Siver in Sunday night's main event at the TD Garden in Boston.
