Kayakers Have Jaw-Dropping Experience, as Curious Shark Swims Right Under Boat

A pair of kayakers were left gasping in astonishment on May 22 when a huge basking shark swam right under their boat off the coast of Cork, in the south of Ireland.

Louise Barker and Becky Hatchett were kayaking when they felt “a little bump from a curious basking shark.”

In the video, recorded by Barker, the shark, the second-largest species in the world, can be seen swimming right under the kayak before moving on.

Barker, who regularly kayaks in the area, said that such sightings had become more common during the COVID pandemic.
