Mariachi Band Plays in Uvalde Town Square on Anniversary of School Shooting

A Mariachi band played in Uvalde, Texas, on Wednesday, May 24, as the community marked the first anniversary of the Robb Elementary School mass shooting.

Video by Ivan Pierre Aguirre shows people gathered in Uvalde’s town square listening to the band.

Dozens of mariachi musicians first traveled from San Antonio to Uvlade in June 2022, hoping they could deliver a dose of comfort with their music, the New York Times reported.
