Police Among Injured in Explosion at German Apartment Building

Several people including police officers were injured on Thursday, May 11, in an explosion at a residential building in Ratingen, Germany, local police said.

Footage recorded in the area shows the police cordon near the scene.

Police in Mettmann, the district where Ratigen is located, tweeted about the explosion shortly after 12 pm on Thursday.

The force confirmed that “several” people including officers were injured.

Reports from the scene showed Special Task Force (SEK) soldiers in attendance, with bangs heard.
