Security Camera Captures Black Bear Cub Wheeling Trash Bin

A black bear cub was seen wheeling out a trash bin outside a home in Asheville, North Carolina on Saturday, May 20.

Home security video captured by David Oppenheimer shows the cub dragging the bin down his driveway and and pulling it onto his lawn.

Oppenheimer told Storyful that he uses metal bear-proof brackets to prevent the animals accessing his trash.

“Most of the bears around here pick up quick on that and don’t bother with the effort to try to open it.”

He told Storyful that he had seen the black bear in the video with its mother and sibling early that day. Oppenheimer suggested that the young animal is yet to understand the bear-proof brackets.
