Swimming Pit Bull Races to Shore After Fish Grazes Him

A pit bull named Banjo furiously paddled to shore after a fish touched him while swimming in a backyard pond in Reeves, Louisiana on May 26, according to his owner.

Banjo’s owner, Katlin Barrow, recorded this video of her two-year-old pup. She told Storyful she was recording him swimming with his “fur brothers” Bruno and Bipp after playing a game of fetch.

“The object floating in the water next to him is the tree bark that I was throwing into the water for them to retrieve and bring back to me,” she said. “When Banjo went to grab it, a fish touched him and he swam back in a panic thinking something was after him.”

Barrow explained that there are no alligators in the pond, just fish such as bass, catfish, and perch.

“He loves swimming in the pond and this is always his reaction to a fish touching him,” she said. Credit: @k8ynb / Katlin Barrow via Storyful
